FOCUS AREA COMMITTEES
2019 Committee Meeting Information
Focus Area Committee Meetings are a great way to get involved in the mission of IMPACT 100 SRQ. There are 5 Focus Areas under which non-profits can submit a grant application: Arts & Culture, Education, Environment & Recreation, Family and Health & Wellness.
Prior to attending a meeting, all committee members must complete these 2 required forms:
Conflict of Interest form (coming soon)
What Happens at Committee Meetings
Focus Area Committees meet in August and September. IMPACT 100 SRQ members can volunteer on any of the five committees to review the grant(s) and select the finalist(s) for that focus area. Members choose a committee based on many factors. For some women the meeting time, location and dates are important and for others they choose a focus area that fits their particular passion or expertise.
At least three members from a committee will conduct a site visit to every non-profit that submits a grant application. The site visit teams will then present their findings at the next committee meeting. All committee members are expected to read the grant(s) application for their focus area. Based on the grant(s) application and the site visits, the committee will choose the finalist(s) for their focus area. The finalist(s) will present their proposals to our members at the annual celebration. At the annual celebration, each member votes for each grant awarded.
Conflict of Interests – All committee members are required to fill out a conflict of interest form. If a member serves on the Board or is an employee of a non-profit whose grant is being reviewed by our focus committee, or was personally involved in the 2019 grant application, we will ask that you serve on a different committee. IMPACT 100 SRQ will maintain an excellent reputation in the community for the integrity of our process in selecting non-profits to receive grants. This policy is necessary in order to maintain the utmost level of fairness to the non-profit(s) and to avoid any impropriety or appearance of such.
Committee Member Training – All committee members will attend a training session before the start of committee meetings. This is an important first step to learn the committee process before we begin our work of reviewing and evaluating the grant(s). The training session for 2019 grant(s) phase will be on Saturday, April 13, 2019 from 9:00am-11:00am at Gold Coast Eagle Distributing, 7051 Wireless Court, Sarasota, FL 34240
